walk worthy

Philemon 1:1-25, Philippians 1:1-2:30

As I've been reading these Pauline Epistles, I've noticed a common catch-phrase:

Ephesians 4:1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

Colossians 1:10 And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.

Philippians 1:27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel 28without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray that you will forge me into a man that walks worthy of your grace.  Lord, I recognize that this is impossible apart from the Holy Spirit empowering my spirit.  Lord, may I fellowship with you closely, and may you be honored by the way I live.  I pray that you will correct me where I am wrong, and mold me more into the image of Jesus Christ. Amen.
