Endurance

Romans 5:1-5 NLT
Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God's glory. We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

Jude puked twice last night, and Rhett couldn't breathe because he was so congested.  I dont know how Brandi is so resilient, because I know that she is exhausted.

The Scripture says we can rejoice when we face trials of many kinds because endurance feels so good.  Wait.  That's not what it says.  Endurance hurts, but pain is temporary,  and it points us to eternal glory. And we are reminded of the suffering and endurance of Christ.  Our character is being shaped into the character of Christ, and He ahows His love and hope ever more clearly through us.

Romans 5:17 NLT
For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.

Heavenly Father, thank you for your grace and mercy shown through Jesus Christ.  Holy Spirit, thank you for your presence, and thank you for strengthening us.  Please give Brandi strength. Jesus, thank you for your victory over sin and death.  Please help us live in awareness of your eternal reality, in spite of these temporary trials.  Please fill us with your peace, hope, and love.  I love you, and I pray in the name of Jesus.
