So, recognizing that Jesus spoke the universe into creation, and recognizing that Jesus performed many miracles and healed many people simply by speaking, why did Jesus use saliva in His miraculous antics in Mark 7 and 8?

These verses from Galatians 1 aren't related, but they concisely summarize the big picture of the Gospel:
3 May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. 4 Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live. 5 All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank you for sending your son to the earth to save people from their sins and to heal people physically.  Thank you for caring about our lives.  Jesus, thank you for proving your deity through the miracles.  Lord, please help me see you more clearly, and please give me a heart of compassion towards others like Christ demonstrated.  I pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.
