carry your cross

¹⁰ I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, ¹¹ and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.

Yesterday, Anne spoke from Luke 14.  I have heard it many times, "²⁷ And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple."  But what does it mean to carry your death instrument and follow Jesus?  What am I carrying?

 

Heavenly Father, I know that I have to die to myself to follow Jesus, and I know that you will resurrect me from the dead.  But please help me know what it looks like in my life to carry my cross and follow Jesus.  I love you, and I ask in the name of Jesus.
