dichotomy

This is the simple dichotomy:  the Gospel message makes sense to those who have placed their faith in Christ because He has given us His Holy Spirit, whereas those who don't believe can not understand the Gospel because God's thinking is so far beyond human understanding.  You just can't get to God on your own - it takes faith that comes from God.

1 Cor 1
8 The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. ... 21 Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. ... 24 But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God's weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength. ... 30 God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.
Wow!  This Scripture passage paints it pretty clear.  Faith is the switch from dark to light, from death to life, from debt to liberty, from destruction to glorification, from confusion to understanding and purpose!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me faith to trust you with my life.  Thank you for opening my eyes to your truth and giving me hope and purpose.  Lord, I praise you for your good plan, and I confess that your ways are infinitely greater than human ways.  Thank you for your mercy through Jesus Christ.  Thank you for being my Master and Friend.  Lord, please use me to bring others to know you and help them grow into full disciples.  I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.
