resurrection

Wow!  1 Cor. 15 was really heavy for me this time.  There is a lot of eschatology packed in there.  Here are the two big picture points I see today:
 - Christ is the first in a harvest of resurrection from the dead.
 - All Believers will have a new, perfect, spiritual body that resembles Christ.

And here's the kicker:
54 Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled:    "Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?"
56 For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. 57 But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
Application:  How am I living in the confidence of verses 54-57, and how am I practically obedient to the charge in 58?  I think this really goes along with Romans 8; we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus!  I need to live like I'm empowered by the God of the universe to discover, experience, and accomplish His specific plan for my life - for my maximum satisfaction and His ultimate glory!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I praise you for your fantastic plan of redemption and resurrection!  You not only have purchased me with the blood of Christ, but you also justify me, sanctify me, and glorify me in Christ Jesus as well!  I praise you!  You are wonderful and kind!  Your love is marvelous and amazing!  Lord, help me live a life that demonstrates your glory.  God, I pray that you will help me appreciate the significance of the truth in 1 Corinthians 15 and that I will live accordingly, in practical obedience.  I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.
