There was nothing about Christ's political or social status that enabled His ministry. Jesus demonstrated His spiritual authority in the natural and spiritual realms:
M 7:37 They were completely amazed and said again and again, "Everything he does is wonderful. He even makes the deaf to hear and gives speech to those who cannot speak."
I think living in the flesh is like eating of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and living in the Spirit is like eating from the Tree of Life:
R 7:5 When we were controlled by our old nature, sinful desires were at work within us, and the law aroused these evil desires that produced a harvest of sinful deeds, resulting in death. 6 But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit.
Heavenly Father, thank you for the example of Jesus Christ - the perfect spiritual man, living in obedience with your will. Father, please empower me by your Holy Spirit to exercise your authority as I cooperate with you. May your goodness and love flow through me into the lives of people around me. I ask in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
