meeting God

Exodus 29-30, Matthew 21:18-46

Ex 29:42 "These burnt offerings are to be made each day from generation to generation. Offer them in the Lord's presence at the Tabernacle entrance; there I will meet with you and speak with you. 43 I will meet the people of Israel there, in the place made holy by my glorious presence. 44 Yes, I will consecrate the Tabernacle and the altar, and I will consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve me as priests. 45 Then I will live among the people of Israel and be their God, 46 and they will know that I am the Lord their God. I am the one who brought them out of the land of Egypt so that I could live among them. I am the Lord their God.

30:6 Place the incense altar just outside the inner curtain that shields the Ark of the Covenant, in front of the Ark's cover—the place of atonement—that covers the tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant. I will meet with you there.

I am reminded of Psalm 24:3-5:

3 Who may climb the mountain of the Lord?
Who may stand in his holy place?
4 Only those whose hands and hearts are pure,
      who do not worship idols
      and never tell lies.
5 They will receive the Lord's blessing
and have a right relationship with God their savior.

Heavenly Father, I am only pure by the blood of Jesus Christ.  Lord, please cleanse my hands, heart, and mind.  I pray that my life will be a fragrant incense offering to you and that you will meet with me.  I want to know you, and I pray that others will see that you are Yahweh.  I pray in the name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.
