evangelism - part deux

Proverbs 25, Luke 12, 2 Timothy 4, Titus 1

We ended our Bible study last night with a challenging discussion about personal evangelism, and each of us agreed to pray for opportunities and boldness to share the Gospel with those around us. Several Scriptures from today's reading speak directly to the charge of personal evangelism:

2 Timothy 4:2, 5, 17 - Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. ... 5 But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don't be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you. ... 17 But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength so that I might preach the Good News in its entirety for all the Gentiles to hear.

Titus 1:1-3 - ... I have been sent to proclaim faith to those God has chosen and to teach them to know the truth that shows them how to live godly lives. 2 This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God—who does not lie—promised them before the world began. 3 And now at just the right time he has revealed this message, which we announce to everyone. It is by the command of God our Savior that I have been entrusted with this work for him.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for stirring my heart to listen to your Word. Lord, please give me opportunities and boldness to share the Gospel Message. May I be prepared to speak by spending time in your Word each day. Lord, help me be aware and discerning of spiritual opportunities, and may I be faithful to plant the Gospel seeds. I pray in Jesus's Name. Amen.
