maybe I'm just hypersensitive to it

Matthew 15, 1 Timothy 6

Or maybe Matthew was hypersensitive to it.  Or maybe it was just a regular part of Jesus's ministry:

Mt 15:29 Jesus returned to the Sea of Galilee and climbed a hill and sat down. 30 A vast crowd brought to him people who were lame, blind, crippled, those who couldn't speak, and many others. They laid them before Jesus, and he healed them all. 31 The crowd was amazed! Those who hadn't been able to speak were talking, the crippled were made well, the lame were walking, and the blind could see again! And they praised the God of Israel.

Switching topics, I am convicted by these verses:

1 Tim 6:6 Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. 7 After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can't take anything with us when we leave it. 8 So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. ... 17 Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. 18 Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. 19 By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.

I feel like my Eternity Treasure Box is pretty small.  The Lord has blessed us with a lot of material resources, but are we leveraging them for the Kingdom, or are we simply using them for our temporary comfort.

Heavenly Father, please convict me of sin, especially with regard to financial stewardship.  Lord, I want us to honor you with the resources that you have entrusted to us and make sure that we are using every ounce of our lives to advance the Kingdom.  May the Lord Jesus Christ be praised and worshiped, because He is worthy.  It is in His name that I pray.  Amen.
