even more on prayer

Matthew 7, 2 Thessalonians 2

3 Dear brothers and sisters, we can't help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing. ... [God is just, and He will sovereignly use our suffering for His glory and our good] ... 11 So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. 12 Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.

There are several themes repeated from the Model Prayer in Matt. 5:  thankfulness, persistence in asking, God accomplishing His good work through us, glory to God in Christ, and GRACE!

Heavenly Father, thank you for encouraging me a leading me along in my walk with you.  Lord, please draw me near to you - I want to hear your voice and obey your Holy Spirit.  Lord Jesus, thank you for bringing me into fellowship with the Father and the Spirit.  Please guide me to live a life worthy of your call; I confess that I am weak, and I can only walk by your grace.  I want to honor you Lord.  I ask for grace and mercy in the name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.
