He is the LORD

I love it when a couple of the passages I read really connect!  On Tuesday evenings, our men's small group Bible study is going through Salvation belongs to the LORD - an introduction to systematic theology by John Frame.  As we have been going through his book, I have come to a stronger appreciation for the LORDship of God, and I am now more biased to see as I read the Scriptures (of course, it is hard to miss at the end of Revelation!).

John 16:31-33
31 Jesus asked, "Do you finally believe? 32 But the time is coming—indeed it's here now—when you will be scattered, each one going his own way, leaving me alone. Yet I am not alone because the Father is with me. 33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. "

Revelation 19:11-16
11 Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war. 12 His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself. 13 He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses. 15 From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress. 16 On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I praise you for having the perfect plan and for having the ability to accomplish your plan.  Jesus, I praise you for being the King of kings and the Lord of lords.  I praise you that you are holy, just, and righteous.  I praise you that you are Faithful and true.  I know that you are the LORD of all, but I ask you especially to be LORD of my heart.  Thank you for the peace I have in You, and may you give me grace to pass through the refining trials and sorrows here on earth.  May I glorify you and bring honor to your Name.  I pray in Jesus's holy name.  Amen.
