searching and rejoicing

Luke 15:1-8

The lost sheep, the lost coin ... in each case, the responsible person postponed his/her regular activities to search for the missing [person].  And upon finding, they celebrated.

I question whether or not I am actually searching for lost souls.  It seems like I have more of a reactive approach; if someone happens to bump into me that doesn't know the Lord, then I may or may not direct them His way.  I think I need to be more intentional about seeking out the lost.  But I guess this requires careful attention to the Holy Spirit, because there are people all around us who do not know the Lord. So which ones does He want me to search and rescue?

And when the Lord does rescue someone, how should I celebrate?

Heavenly Father, please give me your perspective of this world and the people that I can influence.  Holy Spirit, I want to listen to you and obey you as you lead me to find people and show them the way to Christ.  Lord Jesus, I want to be a faithful deputy-shepherd, taking care of the flock and helping bring back those who have wandered away.  I love you, and I want to be focused on the Father's will, like Jesus.  Please help me; I ask in the name of Jesus Christ.
