Jesus's commands and eschatology

The president of the IMB spoke at our church last night, and he preached about the commands of Jesus.
 - Look at the fields that are ripe for harvest, pray that the Lord will send out workers.
 - Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind, soul, and strength and Love your neighbor as yourself
 - Live out the great commission, as you are going, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them, and teaching them to obey

I was very impressed this morning with the warnings and signs Jesus details in Matthew 24.  Here are some of the things Jesus points out:
 - many will come pretending to be the Messiah
 - wars, famines, earthquakes will be the beginning
 - Believers will be arrested, persecuted, and killed; many will turn away from Christ
(which, by the way, seems to be immanently feasible with the recent religious conflicts around the world)
 - there will be false prophets and sin will be rampant everywhere
(which, by the way, is not hard to imagine with the progression of wicked content in radio, TV, and Internet -
there seems to be an acceleration of societal moral degradation around the world)
 - the Good News will be preached throughout the whole world so that all nations will hear it
 - there will be a sacrilegious object that causes desecration
 - the great tribulation will occur
 - Jesus will come on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory
 - at the trumpet blast, angels will gather together God's chosen people

Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me see the many people who don't know Jesus as Savior and Lord.  Please send out Believers that love You with their whole identity to share the Good News and make disciples of all nations.  Here am I, Lord. Send me.  May I be a voice that is shouting, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near."  Lord, give us discernment as we near the end, that we will not be deceived by the enemy.  Help us walk in the Spirit.  I pray in Jesus's Name.  Amen.
