simplicity of the Gospel

Proverbs 1, Matthew 1, Acts 1, Acts 2

I was encouraged much by the succinct message of the Gospel that Peter shares at Pentecost:

36 “So let everyone in Israel know for certain that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, to be both Lord and Messiah!” 37 Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 This promise is to you, and to your children, and even to the Gentiles—all who have been called by the Lord our God.”

It's that easy. We preach the truth of sin and Christ's victory, and then God will bring in those whom He has called through the Holy Spirit's work.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, give me boldness to proclaim the good news through Jesus Christ. Give me opportunity and spiritual discernment. I ask that your Holy Spirit work through me in the lives of those around me. Please bless me by allowing me to participate in your good work by sharing your redemptive plan. Amen.
