Life or Death

Proverbs 9, Matthew 9, Acts 17, Acts 18

Proverbs 9:6,10 - 6 Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of understanding. ... 10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Matthew 9:5-6, 37-38 - 5Which is easier: to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'? 6But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins...." Then he said to the paralytic, "Get up, take your mat and go home." ... 37Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

Acts 18:5, 9, 28 - 5When Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul devoted himself exclusively to preaching, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ. ... 9One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: "Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. ... 28For he vigorously refuted the Jews in public debate, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.

The ways of this world lead to death, but there is life in Christ Jesus. We have the opportunity to have abundant life as we serve the Lord.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, please open my eyes to the deception of this world so that I can see the death around me. Teach me to fear you and serve you, that I may experience abundant life in you and share this wonderful Grace with others. Amen.
